Which Treatment Is Right for You?
Selecting the right dermal filler for you will depend on your aesthetic goals. At Luxx Medspa, our goal is to provide you with a customized treatment that matches your lifestyle and aesthetic concerns. We will help you select the right dermal filler product to restore your skin volume, augment your appearance, and meet your other aesthetic goals.
What Can You Expect From Treatment?
Dermal fillers are injectable treatments that can be completed in about 30 minutes. Many fillers are formulated with lidocaine to make the injections comfortable, but your skin can also be prepared with a topical numbing cream before your injections.
Before your treatment, you should stop using medications and supplements that may cause blood thinning, such as aspirin and vitamin E. To make your recovery quicker, you may want to consider using Arnica capsules three to five days before your appointment, and Arnica gel on the treatment area for three to five days after your appointment.
How Long Will Results Last?
Dermal fillers can have exceptionally long-lasting results. Many fillers can produce results that last for six to 12 months, while others are specially formulated to produce results that last for 18 or more months. In general, fillers that are used on the lips and around the mouth will only last for six to nine months, while fillers that are formulated for the cheek area can last for 12 to 18 months or more.
How Can You Maintain Your Results?
Maintaining your results after your dermal filler treatment ultimately depends on how well you can keep up with your touch-up appointments. If you want to enjoy long-lasting, continuous results, then it's usually a good idea to attend a touch-up appointment once a year.
Your lifestyle factors may also impact how long you can enjoy results. For example, people who exercise frequently may burn off their filler faster and may need touch-up appointments more often. Tobacco and alcohol consumption can also negatively impact the longevity of your results.
Are You a Good Candidate?
The use of these dermal fillers is approved for use in people who are over 21, as long as they are not pregnant or allergic to any of the ingredients in the product. Ultimately, this means that most adults who have aesthetic concerns are eligible for these treatments. You will need to attend a consultation so we can assess your skin concern and help you select the filler most appropriate for your needs.
