What’s your most troubling visible sign of aging? Skin laxity or fine lines? No matter what your main concern is, dermal fillers such as Restylane® Kysse or Juvederm® Voluma™ can be good options for you. At Luxx Medspa, we believe that dermal filler treatments can be customized to help you achieve your aesthetic goals.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are injectable treatments formulated with special ingredients that work with your body to restore the volume of your skin. Most fillers are made with hyaluronic acid, which helps draw water to the subdermal layers of your skin to visibly erase fine lines and wrinkles. Some of the most well-known dermal fillers include Restylane® and Juvederm®.

Restylane® Fillers

Restylane® dermal fillers are formulated with hyaluronic acid and are generally most appropriate for those who have moderate to severe signs of aging. This line of dermal fillers is unique because they are created to achieve subtle anti-aging results. The main goal of these fillers is to rewind the clock.

Lyft™

The Lyft formulation is ideal for correcting moderate to severe lines and folds in the mid-cheek area. This filler is most often used to correct deep nasolabial folds and skin laxity in the cheeks. It can also restore lost volume in the back of the hands.

Kysse™

Kysse is a gentle formula that is used to augment the lips, especially for upper perioral lines. If you have concerns such as thinning lips, smoker’s lines, or lipstick lines on lips, this formula is ideal for you.

Silk™

Silk is another injectable that can be used on lips and around the mouth. Most people can correct perioral wrinkles on the side of the mouth with this filler, such as downturned lip corners.

Defyne™

Defyne is a filler that is specifically designed for severe deep wrinkles on the face, especially around the nose and mouth. Defyne can also be used on the chin to improve the chin profile and reduce marionette lines around the mouth.

Juvederm® Fillers

Juvederm® is another popular brand of dermal fillers. This particular brand is used for both anti-aging and facial contouring. Many younger people use these fillers because the result is primarily for contouring the face to achieve aesthetic goals.

Voluma™

Voluma™ is a gel-like dermal filler that is used to correct visible aging in the mid-face. Specifically, people use this filler in the cheek area to correct volume loss. Many times, this filler can also be used in the chin area to improve the chin profile or even augment the shape of the jaw.

Vollure™

Vollure is designed for moderate to severe fine lines and wrinkles. Most of the time, this injectable is used to correct nasolabial folds, as well as mild to moderate volume loss in the cheeks.

Volbella™

Volbella is a subtle dermal filler that is used primarily for lip augmentation and to correct the appearance of perioral lines, such as laugh lines and smoker’s lines. This injectable treatment can also be used beneath the eyes to improve the appearance of under-eye hollowness.

Ultra Plus™

Ultra Plus is an all-in-one dermal filler that can augment the lips, correct perioral lines, and also moderately improve skin volume around the nose and mouth.

Which Treatment Is Right for You?

Selecting the right dermal filler for you will depend on your aesthetic goals. At Luxx Medspa, our goal is to provide you with a customized treatment that matches your lifestyle and aesthetic concerns. We will help you select the right dermal filler product to restore your skin volume, augment your appearance, and meet your other aesthetic goals.

What Can You Expect From Treatment?

Dermal fillers are injectable treatments that can be completed in about 30 minutes. Many fillers are formulated with lidocaine to make the injections comfortable, but your skin can also be prepared with a topical numbing cream before your injections.

Before your treatment, you should stop using medications and supplements that may cause blood thinning, such as aspirin and vitamin E. To make your recovery quicker, you may want to consider using Arnica capsules three to five days before your appointment, and Arnica gel on the treatment area for three to five days after your appointment.

How Long Will Results Last?

Dermal fillers can have exceptionally long-lasting results. Many fillers can produce results that last for six to 12 months, while others are specially formulated to produce results that last for 18 or more months. In general, fillers that are used on the lips and around the mouth will only last for six to nine months, while fillers that are formulated for the cheek area can last for 12 to 18 months or more.

How Can You Maintain Your Results?

Maintaining your results after your dermal filler treatment ultimately depends on how well you can keep up with your touch-up appointments. If you want to enjoy long-lasting, continuous results, then it's usually a good idea to attend a touch-up appointment once a year.

Your lifestyle factors may also impact how long you can enjoy results. For example, people who exercise frequently may burn off their filler faster and may need touch-up appointments more often. Tobacco and alcohol consumption can also negatively impact the longevity of your results.

Are You a Good Candidate?

The use of these dermal fillers is approved for use in people who are over 21, as long as they are not pregnant or allergic to any of the ingredients in the product. Ultimately, this means that most adults who have aesthetic concerns are eligible for these treatments. You will need to attend a consultation so we can assess your skin concern and help you select the filler most appropriate for your needs.
